1) What does the Bible teach about being born again?
This term “born again” is very precious and very crucial in the Bible. I just want to highlight one point (out of many) that the Bible makes clear. We ready it in John 3:
Being Born Again is a Necessity
Jesus said to Nicodemus in John 3:7, “You must be born again.” Not, “I suggest it,” or, “Your life would improve if you added this experience.”
2) What Happens to You When You Are Born Again?
- It is Supernatural
God the Holy Spirit must come upon you and bring new life into existence.
- It is getting a new life.
What Nicodemus needs is not more religion but life.
What happens in the new birth is that life comes into being that was not there before.
2 Cor 5:17 – “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
Ezekiel 36:26-27: “I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.”
That’s what New birth looks like. It’s Supernatural. It’s Not religious but it’s life. And it’s not an improvement on the old but it is actually new life all together.
3) Are You Born Again?
I held up what New Birth looked like so that you can look at it and say, “Yes that’s me or I have no idea what your talking about… I have never experienced that.”
